This message has been a long time coming, from me. You don’t know me from any other stranger on the street, but you have made a change in my life. Back in April, you came to Country Meadows Baptist Church in Independence, MO. On Sunday, you gave your testimony and lead our service.
I felt a bit of a connection to you from the way your childhood went. My childhood was bad for me too. I had an abusive alcoholic step-father. He would beat me because my mother wasn’t there to be beat on. When I got older, the physical abuse turned to mental abuse. Within the last few years, he left my mother for some other woman.
Back to the point, after service that Sunday you were in the entry way shaking members hands. I had ended up behind you. For some reason, you turned around and looked me in the eyes. It honestly felt like you had looked into my soul. Since that moment, I have re-evaluated my life.
A couple weeks later, I rededicated myself. Unfortunately, I still was just going thru the motions. Just recently, I have looked at myself with eyes wide open and am making changes. Anytime I start to weave off the path, I can just feel your eyes stare into me. You made a change in me that Sunday; it just took me a bit to realize it.
We are doing a 4 week Courageous Bible Study on Sunday nights. This past Sunday we had an ice breaker for our small groups. The question, as best as I can recall, was who made a difference in our life and introduced us to Jesus. Years ago, my great grandma introduced me. I shared this with my group. Once everyone was finished, I had to add on. I brought up that brief moment in the entry way between you and I. I told the group how it just made me open my eyes and realize I was going thru the motions.
This whole week, I have been trying to figure out how to reach out to you. I hope this is an active Facebook account for you.
Thank you so much. You have made a big difference in my life. The days are brighter and life is beautiful. Christ is King!
